  • Meet 1990 World Series Champions - Ron Oester & Tom Browning

    Friday, July 21, 2017 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Reds Hall of Fame, Palace of the Fans Theater

Don't miss this opportunity to meet 1990 World Series Champions Ron Oester and Tom Browning at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame! Oester and Browning will take questions, tell stories, sign autographs, and take pictures with attendees. This event package requires general admission to the HOF or a membership - the package for HOF members will be $10 and for non-members it will be $15 plus the museum admission. There is a limit of 2 event packages per person. Package includes one autograph from each player and a commemorative 1990 lapel pin.

Cincinnati native Ron Oester played his 17-year professional baseball career with the Cincinnati Reds organization, including 13 years at the Major League level. Oester made his Major League debut in 1978 versus the San Francisco Giants. In time, Oester began making regular appearances in the Reds lineup and eventually found himself finishing fourth in voting for the National League Rookie of the Year. After an unfortunate knee injury, Oester made an extraordinary comeback - earning himself Major League Baseball's Hutch Award in 1987. During his final season, Oester played a key role in bringing home a World Series Championship to his home city of Cincinnati. After his playing career, Oester spent six seasons with the Reds as a Major League coach. To this day, he remains a Cincinnati resident and true Reds fan.

Drafted by the Reds in 1982, Tom Browning made his Major League Debut in 1984 versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. After learning how to throw his soon to be signature pitch, the screwball, Browning earned his starting spot in the 1985 rotation. Three years later, Browning faced the Dodgers' Tracy Woodson - the 27th and final batter to face Browning on the night of September 16th 1988. Woodson swung and missed, sending, Browning's fastball straight into baseball history. Browning had just thrown the 13th perfect game in history of baseball and the first in the history of the Reds. Above his stellar rookie season and his departure from Game 2 of the World Series to witness the birth of his son, this night resonates as one of Browning's fondest memories created with the Reds - "[After the last pitch,] I remember [second baseman] Ron Oester tackling me and after that, it honestly felt like an out-of-body experience," Browning reminisced.

Spend your Friday night reliving Ron Oester's key role in the 1990 World Series Championship and Tom Browning's perfect game at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame on July 21st from 6-7 P.M. Attendees will be given the chance to take pictures with Oester, Browning and the 1990 World Series Championship Trophy - you don't want to miss this opportunity!

Reservations are strongly encouraged - please call (513) 765-7923 to reserve your spot at this exciting event today!
