Depending on where you live, spring is around the corner. For me, the days are already warm, the sun shines, and baseball is in the air. As we closely watch the trades, signings, and comings and goings, it's really an exciting time.
Every spring brings new hope for each and every team. Will this be their year? Will they go all the way, despite whatever disadvantages they have? Will the new deals GMs made during the offseason pay off?
That's the fun part of it all, because who knows? Who would have ever believed the Astros would go all the way in '05 when they had such a miserable spring? Just like the Marlins in '03, they too started out shaky but won the title. So, it goes to show, you never know how it's going to play out.
Spring Training is a great way to spend your spring break. Not only do you get to see a lot of good baseball, but the players are relaxed and it's a great time to try and get that autograph you always wanted.
My family has been twice, and we always had a great time! It's a fun way to follow your favorite team, and it's exciting watching all the rookies and invitees trying to make their way onto a team.
If you can't make the trip, stay tuned to MLB.com Kids and we'll give you the scoop on what's happening! Opening Day - we're on our way!
