Yankees on YES HD Quality
1. How do I access HD Quality Video?
You may receive an HD quality video if the source feed is distributed in HD, you are a Yankees on YES subscriber and have installed NexDef and Adobe Flash Player with an Internet connection with consistent bandwidth of at least 3 Mbps. NexDef enables MLB.TV and MLB.TV Premium subscribers to view HD Quality video streams, and the ability to pause and rewind live games. For an optimal viewing experience we recommend that you install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
2. What is NexDef and why should I install it?
NexDef is a plug-in designed to help your computer better manage its bandwidth (Internet connection speed) to bring you higher quality video. This is particularly ideal for those with slower Internet connections, but useful for everyone. NexDef also allows Yankees on YES subscribers to stream the product's highest quality video feeds and pause and rewind live games within the media player. NexDef can be downloaded here.
3.Do I have NexDef?
You can see if NexDef is installed by running our NexDef Detector. Within the Yankees on YES Media Player, you can also see if it is installed by attempting to access HD Quality streams or live game DVR Functionality.
Alternately, you can download NexDef from the Yankees on YES Download Center.
4. Where do I download NexDef?
Whether you have a Mac or PC you may install NexDef from the Yankees on YES Download Center. NexDef enables Yankees on YES subscribers with the appropriate software and Internet connection speed to view HD Quality video stream, LIVE game DVR functionality, and more. 5. Which games will be available in HD? Is there any special software required to view them in HD?
You may view games with an HD quality picture if the source feed is distributed in HD, you are a Yankees on YES subscriber and have installed NexDef and Adobe Flash Player. Our highest quality HD feed requires an Internet connection with a consistent bandwidth of at least 3Mbps. If you do not have this amount of bandwidth, we recommend choosing one of our lower quality HD streams. If you are unsure what the bandwidth of your Internet connection is, you can check with a bandwidth test. 6. I am trying to install NexDef but am encountering errors, what can I do?
If the error is coming up when the installer is running, try manually downloading the installation file by clicking on the "Click here to try a different installation method" link in the installer and download the file. Once the installation file is downloaded, run it to install NexDef manually.
If you still have problems, try installing NexDef directly here.
If both of the above recommendations do not work, try installing NexDef through a different Internet browser. 7. How can I disable NexDef while watching a game?
You can disable NexDef within the player by clicking on the Video Quality section in the bottom of the media player. Then on the top of the box that pops up, click on the word "Normal." This will disable NexDef. 8. I have successfully installed NexDef but when I try and use any DVR functions within the player, or access a Premium quality level, I am told to install NexDef. What should I do?
