NEW YORK -- While Randy Johnson and the proposed three-team deal that would bring him to The Bronx has hogged the forefront, the Yankees have quietly finalized deals with right-handers Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright, according to published reports.
Pavano has agreed to a four-year, $40 million deal with a fifth-year option, ESPN.com reported Friday afternoon.
Wright was given medical clearance after agreeing to a contract slightly amended by the Yankees to assuage some concerns raised by his MRI, according to The New York Times.
Scott Shapiro, Pavano's agent, could not immediately be reached to comment on the report.
