NEW YORK -- Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts left Tuesday's game against the Yankees with a dislocated left elbow after a collision with New York's Bubba Crosby at first base in the bottom of the second inning.
Roberts was covering first base on Crosby's bunt, and he took a throw from B.J. Surhoff at the base. Roberts tried to pull his arm away from Crosby's path after catching the ball, but he was too late, and the force of Crosby's body bent Roberts' arm back. He fell to his knees, writhing in pain while the ball lay near first base.
Bernie Williams scored from third, and Roberts, who never let go of his arm, had to be helped off the field.
