The Yankees may not have been on a roll heading into the All-Star break, but Roger Clemens was, and he'll take the ball in the second game of the Yankees' four-game set with the Devil Rays.

The veteran righty has allowed only two runs in back-to-back eight-inning starts against the Twins and Angels to hit the midseason on a high note. He walked one hitter in each contest and scattered seven total hits, limiting the Twins to two.

The outing against Minnesota was far and away the best of Clemens' seven starts since he rejoined the Yankees at the beginning of June, and if he continues his deadly efficiency, Tampa Bay will have a tough time trying to beat him.

The Rays will send 24-year-old lefty Scott Kazmir to the mound for his 20th start of the season. Kazmir has battled a puzzling lack of command that has resulted in several early exits due to high pitch counts.

Kazmir showed more of the same in his last outing, when he bowed out after throwing 105 pitches in just five innings at Kansas City. He was saddled with the loss -- his third straight -- after allowing the Royals five runs on seven hits and three walks.
