NYY: RHP Roger Clemens (4-5, 4.00 ERA)
Clemens returns to the Yankee rotation after serving a five-game suspension for throwing at the Blue Jays' Alex Rios in an Aug. 7 affair at Rogers Centre. The $25 million man has been up and down in his efforts of late, showcasing his still-effective splitter on most occasions but prone to occasional blips. DET: RHP Chad Durbin (7-5, 4.68 ERA)
Durbin's last effort wasn't a good one. He was the loser in a 7-2 loss to Oakland on Monday, yielding five earned runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings. He didn't show good command, left his breaking ball up and over the middle of the plate and didn't seem to adjust throughout the course of the game. Player to watch
Detroit slugger Gary Sheffield has ripped Clemens' pitches in the past, owning a career .533 batting average against The Rocket with one double and two RBIs in 15 at-bats. Tickets
