NEW YORK -- Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain was on hand Tuesday afternoon at Modell's Sporting Goods in Times Square to unveil a special All-Star Game T-shirt.

The shirt includes NYPD and FDNY patches on its sleeves, and Modell's will donate $1 to both the FDNY Foundation and the New York City Police Foundation for each shirt sold.

"It's an honor for myself -- and I can speak for some of my teammates -- to have this year be the last All-Star Game [at Yankee Stadium]," Chamberlain said. "And we're going to have the best players here. We have the best police and fire [fighters], so we want to support them and definitely give back to them for everything they do for us."

On the front of the navy blue shirt is the phrase, "Heroes Made. Legends Remembered." Images of Yankee Stadium, the Statue of Liberty and the All-Star Game logo are on the back of the shirt. All-Star Game hats, which have the NYPD and FDNY patches on each side, are also on sale.

"Thanks to Modell's and Joba Chamberlain, the sale of these beautiful special edition shirts will help strengthen the services of the NYPD," said Pam Delaney, president of the NYC Police Foundation. "Today, you are our heroes."

FDNY Foundation President Jean O'Shea said sales will benefit the organization.

"We're so excited to be a part of this 'Heroes' T-shirt to raise much-needed funding for the FDNY, for equipment, for training and for fire safety education," O'Shea said.

Toward the end of the press conference, Chamberlain was asked about the effect of starting pitcher Chien-Ming Wang's right foot injury, which will sideline him for at least 10 weeks.

"It's huge," Chamberlain said. "He's a guy who eats up innings. He's been pitching well as of late. It's tough, but we have a lot of great veterans and he's going to be there for support."
