The Yankees have made no changes as of yet to Joe Girardi's staff coming off their third-place, 89-victory showing in the American League East, but hitting coach Kevin Long is the only member with a contract beyond this season.
"When we have something finalized or any changes, we'll announce it, but we're not at that point," Cashman said.
Long signed a three-year agreement worth approximately $1 million before the campaign, and he has already planned offseason trips to work with both Alex Rodriguez in Miami and Robinson Cano in the Dominican Republic.
"The process has all begun, but we're not through it by any stretch of the imagination," Cashman said.
Cashman said that he did not watch much of the American League Division Series and had no rooting interest in the American League Championship Series, which opens Friday between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field.
"When we get knocked out, I don't watch," Cashman said. "I hate to say it, but I don't. I have trouble. It doesn't mean I won't tune in here and there, but I'm not sitting down turning the games on. I'll see highlights, but I'm not watching the games -- never do."
