Royals legends to play in All-Star softball game
Brett, Jackson, Sweeney to headline rosters at Kauffman in July
A trio of Royals legends will headline the rosters at the 2012 Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game in Kansas City.
George Brett, Bo Jackson and Mike Sweeney will take the field at Kauffman Stadium on July 8 for the annual softball game, which features Major League Baseball legends and various celebrities. This year's game will be six innings for the first time and will take place after the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. It will be televised on July 9 at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN following the State Farm Home Run Derby.
Other players scheduled to appear include: Hall of Famers Ernie Banks, Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Rickey Henderson, Ozzie Smith and Dave Winfield, as well as two-time World Series champion Joe Carter and 12-time All-Star Mike Piazza. Banks, Fingers, Henderson, Piazza and Smith all participated in last year's game, and Banks, Piazza and Smith were on the winning team.
