Midland's Jeremy Barfield hit a walk-off homer in the 11th, as Northwest Arkansas lost the series opener. Mario Lisson reached base five times for the Naturals, finishing 3-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run. Yem Prades recorded three hits and two runs from the leadoff spot. He has hit safely in 11 straight games (.347, 17-for-49).

Wilmington dropped to 1-2 in a four-game set at Carolina. Adam (6 2/3 innings, six hits, four runs, three earned runs, one walk, five strikeouts) has taken a loss in each of his past seven starts, though his ERA is 3.71 on the season. Brian Fletcher recorded a third consecutive multihit game, as he doubled twice, walked and scored a run. Brett Eibner doubled in the eighth, scoring Angel Franco and Fletcher.

The Cougars won a wild opening game at Clinton. Bonifacio put Kane County on top to stay with a grand slam in the sixth. He finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5. Lane Adams added three hits, two RBIs and three runs, boosting his average to .330 (67-for-203). Culver picked up a relief win, as he limited the LumberKings to a run on three hits and a walk over 2 2/3 innings.
