Clemens to make 700th career start

New York (55-48) at Baltimore (48-54), Saturday, 7:05 p.m. ET

Roger Clemens will be rounding out some of his career numbers against the Orioles on Saturday at Camden Yards.

It will be The Rocket's 10th start of the season and the 700th of his career, tying him with Tommy John for sixth place on baseball's all-time games started list.

Among pitchers with 350 wins, Clemens owns the second-best career winning percentage (.658), behind only Christy Mathewson (.665).

Countering for the Orioles will be left-hander Brian Burres, who's 1-2 with a 7.17 ERA in his last five starts. Burres has never faced the Yankees.

Pitching matchup
NYY: RHP Roger Clemens (3-4, 3.72 ERA)
Clemens looked sharp Monday against the Royals, inducing a big double play to escape damage in the sixth inning at Kauffman Stadium. He finished the game having allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three over seven innings.

BAL: LHP Brian Burres (4-4, 4.33 ERA)
With a few days off on their schedule, the Orioles used a four-man rotation for a period that knocked Burres out of the loop. The left-hander hasn't pitched since July 16, and in his last start against Seattle, he took the loss after allowing four runs on nine hits in six innings.

Player to watch
Miguel Tejada has done well against Clemens in his career, batting .308 off The Rocket with a double and RBI in 26 at-bats.
