Mariners to return June 2 for makeup game

NEW YORK -- The Yankees announced that Wednesday's game against the Mariners at Yankee Stadium was postponed because of inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for June 2 at 7:05 p.m. ET.
This three-game series, which opened on Tuesday with a 6-3 Seattle victory, marked the Mariners' only scheduled trip to Yankee Stadium this season. Seattle will now return on a mutual off-day between the two clubs.
The Yankees and Mariners will play their originally scheduled game on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET. New York will start right-hander Hiroki Kuroda, skipping right-hander David Phelps, who was scheduled to pitch before Wednesday's postponement.
Kuroda gets the nod coming off his worst start of the season, as he was pounded by the Angels for eight runs (six earned) and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings last time out. He hasn't completed six innings in back-to-back starts after doing it in his first three outings.
The Mariners will start left-hander Roenis Elias, who had been scheduled to start on Wednesday.
Fans holding paid tickets for Wednesday's postponed game may use them for the rescheduled game or exchange their paid tickets for any regular-season game at Yankee Stadium within 12 months of Wednesday's postponed game (subject to availability).
