Leyland 'thrilled' about Humber's perfect game
Jim Leyland knows all too well the heartbreak of a pitcher being one out from history and having the moment taken away from him. That might be partly why the Tigers' skipper said Sunday he was "thrilled" and "glad" the umpire called strike three to give White Sox pitcher Philip Humber the 21st perfect game in Major League history.

Jay to have shoulder examined in St. Louis
Outfielder Jon Jay left the Cardinals on Sunday to return to St. Louis, where he will undergo an MRI as part of a reexamination of his right shoulder. Jay, who is nursing a sprained right shoulder, was experiencing more soreness on Sunday.

Lee, Phils taking a cautious approach to injury
