Hideki Matsui broke a tie in the eighth inning with a two-run homer, making Kyle Farnsworth, who tossed a perfect eighth, a winner. Mariano Rivera allowed a run in the ninth, but held on for his 11th save. Robinson Cano and Melky Cabrera homered in a five-run second, as the Yanks batted around.
