The Yankees needed a gutsy effort from Andy Pettitte in the last of three at Fenway Park, but the Red Sox chipped away at the veteran lefty en route to a sweep that pushed New York back to the .500 mark. Reliever Mark Melancon made his Major League debut with two scoreless innings.
