Red Sox 7, Yankees 3
Johnny Damon (18) is met by Derek Jeter after homering on Tuesday. (Julie Jacobson/AP)
Even with a career-high 12 strikeouts, Joba Chamberlain couldn't get the best of the Red Sox, who used a first-inning Jason Bay homer to build an early lead in the Bronx and didn't let go. Johnny Damon gave the Yankees a glimmer of hope with a three-run homer in the third inning, but Josh Beckett limited New York from there.
