Bronx Dance Theater

For almost forty years, the Bronx Dance Theatre (BDT) has been committed to exposing children to an array of performing arts programs that focus on building character. The dedicated Artistic and Administrative staff that derive from the BDT's apprentice program provide in excess of 1,300 local youth with the opportunity to participate in various arts/educational programs. The New York Yankees support the BDT's efforts to underwrite scholarships, arts/educational and apprentice programs, special workshops and performances.

Highbridge Voices

The New York Yankees are committed to supporting Highbridge Voices efforts to insure excellence in the lives of children through their active participation in the performing arts. Highbridge Voices is an after-school music/academic program committed to inspiring excellence in the lives of 200 children, ages 9 to 17, from the Highbridge community in the Bronx. Through the study of music, students learn valuable life-lessons in character development, self-discipline and teamwork. The organization's motto, "Highbridge Voices Way", propels students to pursue a higher education and lifelong achievement. On Friday, September 25, Highbridge Voices Chamber Choir members performed the National Anthem on-field at Yankee Stadium.

Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center

Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center provides a vibrant space where children, teenagers and adults explore and celebrate dance, theater, music, martial arts, visual arts and the diverse cultures, arts and traditions of the local Bronx community. The New York Yankees support Mind Builders' efforts to provide educational and recreational programming for 400 students every year.

New York Yankees, Publicolor and Public School X114 Paint Project

The New York Yankees teamed up with Publicolor and Public School X114 to transform the School's building with color. Publicolor engages disconnected youth in their education through a continuum of design-based programs and academic support. Public School X114 provides local youth with a superior educational experience and positive recreational and social outlets. The objective of this team project was to create a beautiful, warm, welcoming and student-centric environment. The Yankees employees volunteered their time to paint the facility alongside area youth. The youth were recognized for their efforts on the project during an on-field pregame ceremony at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, August 26. In addition, all those involved in executing the project were invited to attend the game.

Renaissance Youth Center

Over the years the New York Yankees have worked closely with Renaissance Youth Center to make a positive impact in the lives of local youth. Renaissance Youth Center's mission is to empower at-risk inner-city youth to fully maximize their potential as productive and responsible members of society by offering dynamic, team-building education, music and sports programs while instilling the importance of building strong communities.

In support of Renaissance EMS' efforts, the New York Yankees have provided youth from Renaissance's music programs with opportunities to perform at Yankee Stadium. During Roger Waters presents The Wall: Live concert, fifteen children sang the chorus of "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 11)" on stage alongside Roger Waters in front of approximately 40,000 fans. At the 2010 Winter Wonderland event, the Choir performed Christmas carols in front of approximately 5,000 children and adults.
