The third strike that got away from catcher Mickey Owen of the Dodgers in the ninth inning of the fourth World Series game played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn on Oct. 5, 1941, is presented here in one of the most dramatic pictures ever made of a ballgame. Tommy Henrich of the Yankee has taken his cut and missed and umpire Larry Goetz is giving the out signal. But Henrich got to first and later scored to tie the count and the Yankees went on to win 7-4. (AP Photo)
