Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez started his second full week working out at New York's Minor League complex in Tampa, Fla., on Monday and has increased his on-field drills, The Associated Press reported.

Rodriguez, recovering from right hip surgery in Colorado on March 9, made 19 throws to first base and nine to second base after fielding grounders as part of his additional defensive work. In batting practice, he hit 10 home runs in 75 swings.

"It feels good," the three-time American League Most Valuable Player told The AP.

Additionally, Rodriguez runs in the outfield to start and end his on-field sessions, but he has not started full-speed sprints or running the bases.

The Yankees expect Rodriguez to rejoin the team by May 15.
