Hillman is in his third year as Dodger bench coach, fifth year as a Major League coach and 23rd year as a professional baseball coach, having guided teams at the Major League and minor league level as well as in Japan... managed the Kansas City Royals from 2008-2010, compiling a 152-207 record...managed the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters from 2003-2007, guiding the club to two Japan Series appearances (2006, 2007), the 2006 Japan Series title and Konami Cup championship and three playoff appearances (2004, 2006 and 2007)...was named the 2006 Japan "Sportsman of the Year" by the 2006 Foreign Sportswriters of Japan...served as the Director of Player Development with the Texas Rangers in 2002...managed in the New York Yankees' minor league system from 1990 to 2001 where he compiled an 855-761 (.529) record, leading his teams to eight winning seasons and four playoff appearances...began his managerial career at 27 years old with Oneonta (A) in 1990...began his coaching career in 1989 with Class-A Prince William...began his non-playing career as a scout in the Cleveland organization from 1987-1988.

Playing career
Played three seasons in the Cleveland Indians' minor league system from 1985-1987 as a middle infielder and third baseman for the Batavia Trojans, Waterloo Indians, Waterbury Indians and Kinston Indians...signed by the Indians as a free agent on June 22, 1985.

Thomas Brad Hillman and his wife, Marie, reside in Liberty Hill, TX, and have two children, son T.J. and daughter Brianna...attended and played baseball at the University of Texas-Arlington and was an All-Southland Conference infielder for three seasons...has a bachelor's degree in health and sports studies...is a member of the UTArlington Hall of Fame and Southland Conference Hall of Fame and is a Distinguished Alumni Honoree at UTArlington...participated in the 2011 and 2012 Dodgers Dream Foundation's Bowling Extravaganza...enjoys playing the guitar, drumming, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
